Are you fully trained?

Scoutmasters and Committee Chairs must be fully “trained” for their registered position by 01/01/2011. Other leaders must be fully trained for their registered position by 01/01/2012. For Boy Scout leaders, training consists of Fast Start, Youth Protection, This is Scouting, Boy Scout Leader Specific, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.

See Calendar below for training dates. Fast Start, Youth Protection, and This is Scouting are also available online. Must have Youth Protection updated every two years.

If you were trained under old requirements and have a break in service then you would have to get re-trained under new requirements. If a troop recharters without someone because they do not have Youth Protection this will cause a break in service for that person.

Trainers will travel to your unit.

To see your training: Go to myscouting.org, click eLearning, click Training Validation, enter your Member ID or Member ID of your leaders.
